Series 4: Decisions & Wisdom
Wisdom is not proven in what we know.
Wisdom is revealed in what we choose.
As we close out Series 4, we pause to reflect on three core themes:
- Asking God for wisdom (James 1:5)
- Trusting God in our choices (Proverbs 3:5–6)
- Surrendering to God’s will over our own (Romans 12:2)
1. Asking for Wisdom
“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God…” (James 1:5)
Wisdom begins with humility. It requires admitting we do not see the whole picture.
Reflection:
Have I been asking God for wisdom before making decisions, or only asking Him to bless what I already decided?
2. Trusting God in Choices
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart…” (Proverbs 3:5–6)
Trust is active surrender. It means obedience even when clarity is incomplete.
Reflection:
Where is God inviting me to trust Him more deeply?
3. God’s Will vs. My Will
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” (Romans 12:2)
Discernment flows from transformation. When our minds are renewed, our desires begin aligning with God’s will.
Reflection:
Where might I be resisting God because His will challenges my comfort?
Practical Decision Journal Exercise
Set aside 20–30 minutes this week and journal through:
- Where did I move ahead without asking God first?
- Where is God asking me to trust Him more fully?
- Where might I be resisting His will?
Write the Scriptures out in your journal. Pray through them slowly.
Reflection is spiritual formation.
