Series 4: Decisions & Wisdom
Anchor Scripture: Romans 12:2
Let’s face it, there is a tension most of us believers rarely admit out loud. It is not always between good and evil. It is often between what we want and what God wants.
Romans 12:2 reminds us:
“Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
God’s will is not hidden to frustrate us. It is revealed through transformation.

Two Competing Influences
The world says follow your heart while the Scripture says to renew our minds.
Jeremiah 17:9 reminds us that the heart can be deceptive. Proverbs 14:12 warns that what seems right can still lead us in the wrong direction.
God’s will is described as good, pleasing, and perfect. But pleasing to whom? Often not to our flesh.
Surrender Is Not Weakness
Jesus modeled surrender in Luke 22:42. He stated, “Not my will, but yours, be done.”
Surrender is not denial of desire. It is alignment of desire.
When we delight in the Lord, Psalm 37:4 tells us our desires begin to shift.
Practical Alignment
To align our will with God’s will we must
• Examine our motives
• Pray before deciding
• Test it against Scripture
• Seek wise counsel
• Look for Spirit shaped peace
Reflection Questions
• Is this decision shaped by fear or faith?
• Am I trying to control what belongs to God?
• What would obedience look like without ego?
• Have I renewed my mind or reacted emotionally?
• If I trusted that God’s will is truly good, what would change?
Next week is our reflection week. We will walk through a Practical Decision Journal to help process decisions with wisdom and clarity.
Until next time…
Faith is not complicated.
It is practical.
Walk it out one decision at a time.
