Key Scripture: Exodus 12:13 (CSB)
“When I see the blood, I will pass over you…”
What Passover Shows Us
Passover is not just an Old Testament event. It is a reminder of who God is and how He moves.
God’s people were in bondage. They could not free themselves. So God stepped in. He made a way where there was none.
But what stands out is this:
God gave them something to do.
They had to apply the blood to the doorposts.
They had to trust what God said.
They had to act in faith before they saw the outcome.
So what we are seeing is this—deliverance was God’s work, but obedience was their response.
How This Applies to Us Today
We may not be in Egypt, but we all have areas where we need freedom.
Some of us are walking through cycles we cannot seem to break.
Some of us are carrying things we were never meant to hold.
Some of us are asking God to move, but we have not yet taken the step He already showed us.
Passover reminds us that:
- God still delivers
- God still makes a way
- And often, He invites us to trust Him before we see the full picture
Making It Practical
So how do we honor Passover in our everyday lives?
We slow down and remember.
1. Identify what God has already brought us through
Take time to reflect. What has God already delivered us from?
2. Respond with obedience in the present
Is there something God has asked us to do that we have been delaying?
3. Trust God with what is still unresolved
Not everything is finished yet, but God is still faithful.
A Simple Reflection
Where in our lives is God inviting us to trust Him again?
And what would it look like for us to respond in obedience, even before we see the outcome?
Passover is not just about what God did.
It is about what He is still doing.
